Break It Down Workshop

There is so much going on in a yoga pose (asana) and let’s face it, visiting the pose for a few moments in class just doesn't give us enough time to truly access all of the intricate muscles to be strong and fully supported in our joints.  In this workshop we take an asana, break it into little pieces, learn to find the necessary muscles and their actions in order to execute it safely and confidently. More importantly, you will begin to discover who you are, in your body and learn how to bring the pose safely to you.

This workshop is open to anyone wanting to awaken into the intelligence of the body to receive the most benefit out of the their asanas.  “Your curiosity and fascination is what makes you an advanced student”,  Maty Mzraty.

March 11:  The Happy Joint - Break it Down Workshop

Our joints are happiest when all of our muscles are working together in a balanced way to stabilize and support them. When this balance is disrupted due to an injury, poor mechanics, postural habits or joints that move beyond a natural range of motion……pain results.

In this workshop we will take a look at posture, movement patterns and assess hyper-mobile joints. We will learn skills to help recruit muscle actions necessary to keep your joints happy and healthy while in your yoga practice and in daily activities.

This workshop is ideal for anyone who experiences joint pain such as knees, hips, shoulders, back pain and for anyone wanting to learn how to create more strength and stability in their yoga practice.  This workshop is especially helpful for the hyper-mobile student and for teachers who want to learn more about this special population.
