Extended 2-Hour Yoga Practice
“When the practice is done for a long time, without break, and with sincere devotion, then the practice becomes a firmly rooted, stable and solid foundation” (yoga sutra 1.14).
Ever feel like you’re just scratching the surface of yoga’s potential with an hour or 75 minute class? While these classes offer immense benefit, they may not provide enough preparation to inch closer toward the state of “union” – which is the fundamental offering of yoga.
The Extended 2-hour Yoga practice is also known as “Raja Yoga” in classic Hatha Yoga practice’s, that includes pranayama and meditation. This well-rounded 2-hour yoga practice includes plenty of time to prepare the body, breath, nervous system, and mind for deep relaxation and meditation. The practice will include about 90 minutes of asana, 10-15 minutes of pranayama (yogic breathing practices), and 15 minutes of meditation.
This will be an all-levels class, appropriate for level 1-2 and higher. We will explore level 2 (and a few level 2-3) poses. Modifications will be offered.
