Pattabhi Jois in the 20th century. Ashtanga Yoga emphasizes a strong and steady breath, known as ujjayi breath, which helps to create internal heat and purify the body. The practice also incorporates bandhas, or energy locks, which help to channel and control the flow of energy within the body. Ashtanga Yoga offers a rigorous and structured approach to yoga practice, providing both physical and mental benefits. It is suitable for individuals of all levels, but it is recommended to start with a qualified teacher to learn the proper alignment and sequencing of the postures.

VIN TO YIN:

This hybrid class is the best of both worlds. Starting with heat-building dynamic movement to warm the body up and build strength for the first half of the class. In the second half of the class, we will slow down and focus on the deep feel-good style of stretching where we hold postures, mostly on the floor, to help release deep tissue stress and improve mobility.

Yin Yoga:

Yin Yoga is a practice that consists of longer holds and deep tissue stretching. You will use yoga props to help support your body in relaxation in order to gain homeostasis. Yin yoga helps you sleep better, reduce tension, and increase flexibility.
